很多人都不知道：oil 也有可数的时候！

另外，oil 还可以表示一幅幅的 “油画作品”，此时 oil 是 可数名词，等于 oil painting。如：

an oil on the wall 挂在墙上的一幅油画

a collection of oils 一批油画藏品

好了，弄清楚 oil 什么时候可数了，下面再列举一些看似不可数，但实际上存在可数含义的单词：

air

表“空气”时不可数，表“态度”或“样子”时可数。

I need some fresh air.

我想要出去透透气。

Jack enjoys putting on airs.

杰克喜欢装腔作势。

He came back home with a triumphant air.

他带着得意洋洋的神情回家。

art

表“艺术”时不可数，表“文科”时可数。

Do you like modern art?

你喜欢现代艺术吗？

If you don’t like the sciences, you may pick up the arts.

如果你不喜欢理科，你可以选文科。

grain

表“谷物，粮食”时不可数，表“颗粒”时可数。

The breakfast is made from mixed grain.

这一份早餐是用五谷杂粮做的。

There are grains of sugar on the table.

桌上有一些砂糖颗粒。

joy

表“喜悦的感觉”时不可数，表“令人喜悦的食物”时可数。

We all jumped for joy on hearing the good news.

一听到这个好消息，我们都雀跃不已。

It is a joyto see you are friends again.

看到你们重归于好，真令人高兴。
