r1、Renew

　　vt.补充;重新开始;使更新;使恢复;vi.重申，重复强调;重新开始。

　　第三人称单数： renews 现在分词： renewing 过去式： renewed 过去分词： renewed

　　 “更新”、“重新开始”，指到期的东西（如签证、合同、证书、图书等）的重新办理手续，也可指更新、更换物品或使活动重新开始。 

1）You need to renew your business license.

      你需要更新您的营业执照。

2）I will just decide not to renew my contract here.

　　现在我决定不再续签这里的合同。

3）A good housewife frequently renews her stocks of essential items.

       一个好的家庭主妇经常更新日常用品。

　　第三人称单数： revives 现在分词： reviving 过去式： revived 过去分词： revived

　　“苏醒”、“复苏”，常引申出“给予新的生力”、“出现新的生机”等词义。

1）The opportunity she gained by chance revived her long cherished wish to become a famous fashion designer.

　　“修复一新”、“翻新”，词义比较窄，主要指房屋、绘画等的修缮。

1）They have decided to renovate the historic building which was built one hundred years ago.

      他们决定修缮这幢建于一百年前的历史建筑。

2）The committee calls for redoubled efforts to protect water resources and renovate outdated water facilities in the cities.

　　”更新”、“使升级”、“为……提供最新信息”，指技术、资料、信息、文件、数据、系统等更新，通过添加新信息或更改设计使之不过时，跟上最新的情况. 

1）Nowadays, workers need to constantly learn new knowledge and update their skills to adapt themselves to the shifting working environment.

　　“刷新”，指点击电脑鼠标或屏幕上的按纽使页面重新出现。

1）To avoid potential errors, you shuld refresh the area to be modified to ensure that it is up to date.

　　为避免潜在错误，你应该刷新要修改的区域以确保它是最新的。
