英文论文写作常用的格式有APA和MLA。APA（American Psychological Association）是一种标明参考来源的格式，主要使用在社会科学领域及其他学术准则中，国内很多期刊也是采用的APA格式。MLA是美国现代语言协会（Modern Language Association）制定的论文指导格式，多用于人文学科（Liberal Arts）。今天的短文介绍APA格式。

APA格式是一个为广泛接受的研究论文撰写格式，特别针对社会科学领域的研究，规范学术文献的引用和参考文献的撰写方法，以及表格、图表、注脚和附录的编排方式[1]。

以下为APA第七版的对正文、标题和参考文献的基本格式要求：

l  正文要求

ü  每一段的开头按Tab键后开始而不是直接空格

ü  行距：double space

ü  字体要求：Times New Roman

ü  字体大小：12号； （第七版字体及字号大小变灵活，更多选择包括Calibri11, Arial 11, Georgia 11 等，但最好还是用Times 12）

l  标题要求（标题不使用1，2，3…这样的标号）

ü  第1级：置中大小写标题(Centered Uppercase and Lowercase Heading)

ü  第2级：置中、斜体、大小写标题(Centered, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Heading)

ü  第3级：靠左对齐、斜体、大小写标题(Flush Left, Italicized, Uppercase and Lowercase Side Heading)

ü  第4级：缩排、斜体、小写标题，最后加句号(Indented, italicized, lowercase paragraph heading ending with a period)

ü  第5级：置中大写标题(CENTERED UPPERCASE HEADING)
